Hi,
My name is Brandon, and I’m a professional musician of 25 years turned accidental business owner. I say “accidental” because all I ever planned to do with my life was play drums all day and teach on the side. But apparently the universe had other plans, and I ended up with too many students and had to hire a team of teachers to help out. Now we have over 200 students, 10 teachers, and a few staff members. Apparently, people like drumming…
At the beginning of the pandemic, when all the gigs had dried up and many of my students had disappeared, I started reading a lot of books and taking courses on business and marketing. After a while, I began working with a tech company and some marketing agencies as a content creator and copywriter. This allowed me to work with experienced professionals and apply what I was learning to my own business. So while I was helping clients, I was also secretly “spying” on the agencies.
Lately, I’ve combined my experience running a successful music school with my knowledge of marketing and business, and turned it into consulting for music schools, as well as coaching for independent music teachers. The people I’ve coached have gotten great results.
Outside of work, I have a daughter I spend every spare moment with. We mainly dance around the living room while listening to records or watch birds by the river.
I’d say the biggest contribution I can make to the Titans group is my ability to think outside the box when it comes to marketing and business development. If you ever need an earpiece to bounce ideas off, I’m here to help. I also have a knack for building strong communities, as I have done so at my drumming academy. Basically, picture what Titans is, then add drumsticks and a lot of cheesy musician jokes.
Keep on drumming,
Brandon
